iHeartMedia
I started working with iHeartMedia / Premier Networks in 2014, and was hired as the graphic artist for The Rush Limbaugh Show in 2015. On a daily basis, I create dozens of custom graphics for his website and social media apps, in a high pressure and deadline driven environment. Additionally, I create numerous marketing and advertising graphics for various iHeartMedia properties.
Obviously, people often will ask about my political affiliations because of who my boss is. They're usually surprised when I tell them that politically, I'm boringly middle of the road. They are also surprised to learn that in my workplace, nobody cares if you are a Republican or a Democrat, only that you're a professional. Though I might disagree with some of the things that Rush says, he's got the right to say it, and it doesn't interfere with my ability to perform my duties at a high level.
Website
Every broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show is transcribed, and those transcriptions are used to create articles for RushLimbaugh.com. I create all of the images that are used to support these articles.
Parodies
Rush frequently will come up with a spontaneous nicknames while on the air, and I'll have to scramble to make an image on the spot. Sometimes, he'll even describe what the graphic should look like while he's talking to his audience, and I'll have to try to get as close to his vision as possible.
Magazine Covers
Rush publishes a monthly magazine called The Limbaugh Letter. Occasionally, the artwork made for Rush's website will also be used in the publication. The photo below was made for the site, but wound up on the March 2020 cover.
Advertising
In addition to his daily radio show and web site, Rush has a members only paywall section (Rush 24/7), an app, a magazine, a news letter and an online merchandise store. I create images that are used in advertisements for these projects.
Promotions
I've designed the artwork for several of Rush's promotional campaigns. Among them was an extremely successful 'Never Hillary' design, which generated record product sales for Rush's store, and helped reach an all-time high of subscriptions to Rush 24/7 (Rush's paywall service).
